Aviation

One of my hobbies is General Aviation. I used to own a Cessna 172 Skyhawk that was IFR equipped with a Garmin 430W GPS/NAV/COM, Narco Mk12D NAV/COM with Glide Slope, and Stec System 20 Autopilot. We enjoyed day trips to various spots in New England, and longer trips (such as the annual Oshkosh EAA AirVenture flyin). I sold the Cessna in 2011.

We belong to the Rhode Island Pilots Association which is a great organization that promotes aviation in Rhode Island.

Flying my Skyhawk on a nice day. Debbie frequently rides in the back seat to get more room, particularly on longer flights. This is convenient for me since I can keep charts, etc. on the right front seat.

This is the Garmin GNS-430W IFR certified GPS, NAV, and COM. It is showing a track to the Providence airport. Marthas Vineyard is drawn on the bottom of the map display.

The Garmin is coupled to a STEC System 20 Autopilot with a GPS roll steering adapter, also known as GPSS.

A Narco CP-136 audio switching panel is above the Garmin. The Narco MK12D is below.
